As we are closing out 2017, we’d like to take a moment to reflect back on what we have accomplished this year, as well as what we set out to accomplish in the coming New Year.
For those that have joined Diggz this year, we hope that you found it to be a new and delightful experience of finding a roommate. More importantly we hope that we were successful in our mission to deliver roommates that are the right fit. For our veteran Diggz users, we are thankful that you chose to come back and let us help you find a new roommate once more.
This year, we expanded in to 12 new metro areas in the US and Canada, including LA, San Francisco and the Bay area, Miami and South Florida, the DC area, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Toronto, Boston and Philadelphia. We plan to keep rolling out into new markets as well in this coming year and hopefully bring our services to markets like Seattle, San Diego, Phoenix, Detroit, New Orleans, and more.
Since we’ve started in August of 2015, we have made great strides to improve our product and services, and this year we’ve spent a lot time and effort to keep improving and innovating our platform. Some of the improvements included enhancing your profile with personal references from your friends and family, or connecting you with people from the same hometown, country (for those outside the US) or school. This has been very helpful for our users from oversees, since it’s always more welcoming to feel at home by connecting from someone from back home.
Some of the improvements that we’ve made were behind the scenes with the intent to deliver a much faster, reliable and safer platform; we worked tirelessly to make sure that our platform keeps up with our growth and doesn’t slow down over time. We’ve also put an emphasis to seal our platform from bad guys, by putting in place robust tools and procedures to make sure that only real people with honest intentions exist on the platform. We’ve accomplished that without tasking you with extra steps such as asking for your ID to join. We believe that joining a platform should be as frictionless as possible.
We wanted to enhance our alerts and deliver you timely and important notifications for your roommate search. We now offer push notifications directly to your mobile device or your browser, eliminating the need to check for alerts to hit your email inbox.
And finally, taking what we’ve learned since we’ve started, we have revised and improved our proprietary matching algorithm to serve you more personalized and relevant profiles up front. No need to sift through endless profiles; best bet is that your next roommate is waiting for you upfront.
Looking ahead to next year, we plan to bring you additional awesome features to make your search for a roommate and housing even more seamless. Be out on the lookout for further announcements in January.
